You are at risk of hepatitis B if you have not had it before or have not been vaccinated. The amount of your risk depends on the number of your sexual partners up to now and the risk of each of them. Your risk is increased if you have used contaminated needles or have been in other situations where contaminated needles or blood may have been used, such as when receiving health care in some other countries. Also hepatitis B infection is more common in some countries in Europe (for example Greece, Romania, Italy and Spain), and if you are living or have ever lived in one of these countries, you are more at risk of hepatitis B.
